Tulumba (Touloumba) is one of the classic Bulgarian sweets. Although not completely Bulgarian by origin, it is deeply rooted in Bulgarian cuisine and is a favorite goodie for everyone in the family, little and big.
It is made from unleavened dough lump given a small ovoid shape with ridges along. It is first deep-fried to golden color and then sugar-sweet syrup poured over it when still hot. It is best consumed cold.
